summit

"Summit could care less about holding their students accountable for their actions. I know several gay peers that have been bullied out of school because Summit wouldn't do anything to help them. I've heard the term f*g and the n-word tossed around in classrooms.. Also, I doubt they even touch the reports they receive, as my own reports have had NO followups! I've also heard of homophobic students crashing lgbtq+ clubs. On the bus I ride, white students bullied a girl wearing a hijab. A black person is regularly picked on for being "too white." I've seen a few "whiteout" posts in favor of white supremacy to counter blackout Tuesday from former students.

As for my own experience with Summit; I was sexually harassed online and in person my freshman and sophomore year and I begged for the administrator's help- I had proof, I had text messages, I had witnesses, and they refused to help me. I had been talking to                          , one of Summit's principles at the time, and I still remember when she looked me in the eye and said that she wouldn't help me because of the way I dressed. She mentioned how I should pull my shirt up and maybe then it'd stop, but until then, she wouldn't do anything because I was asking for it. During this time I was still coming to them with message after message with their names. They'd told me before they wouldn't help me without names, then they said they couldn't do anything because it was outside of school. I know so many other girls at my school who've had to go through the same thing I did with no support from staff. It's time Summit stop blaming the victims and actually do something to fix the problem.

WCS as a whole needs to start enforcing the no tolerance policy they love preaching about for teachers and students! Of course, this includes racism, sexism, and homophobia. Summit has a problem with saying "next time." There wouldn't be a next time if they weren't lazy and busy slut shaming minors. On that note,                           should be fired."
